We highly recommend putting “drive to Falls Village” on your spring/summer goals list. Visit the gallery and take in some inspirational art, sip a cappuccino from the adjoining Falls Village Cafe (opening mid-May)…then stop at Great Falls waterfall. We give this day an A++.

A gallery of ideas & visions

Furnace – Art on Paper Archive is a destination for viewing contemporary art with a focus on works on paper. Gallery owner Kathleen Kucka aims to mount thoughtful exhibitions by established and emerging artists from the Tri-state area and beyond. Visitors will also be able to view numerous original works in the on-site flat files.

Cupcake Uptake and the Cloud of Unknowing

The inaugural show includes Cornwall, CT/NYC artist Stephen Maine‘s paintings and works on paper. ?

Art-starved? Kathleen Kucka is ready to greet you!

Opening this art space has been a journey for Kathleen Kucka who conceived the idea during the summer of 2020 when we couldn’t see art in person. For her, cultivating a relationship with art has only become a stronger desire, and feels the arts are essential to being human. Agreed!

Flat files filled with art to buy at all access points

Having grown up in NYC visiting The Met regularly from the age of 8, attending Cooper Union & Hunter College, and directing and curating shows for 3 years at The Shirley Fiterman Art Center, Kathleen has a huge network of creative friends. She loves to represent artists who choose to do things a little bit differently or find new procedures to make their work.

And in those flat files, you’ll find a sophisticated selection of artists covering a wide range of visions. Abstraction, geometric, nature-based paintings, works on paper.

Kathleen’s own art work currently involves burning and pencil. We’re so inspired!

The vault story

Furnace Art Gallery is housed in the old town hall building at 107 Main Street. When Kathleen took on the space they told her that if they could find somebody to open the vault and give her a new combo (the combination having been lost for years!) it was hers to use! After much research and finding a vault specialist to drive 3 hours to get to the job – we can all now enjoy this unique viewing area.

Do your eyes and art-starved-soul a favor and take a ride out to Falls Village asap!
