This month’s fashionista post is brought to you by Lindsey Victoria Photography, cute outfits from WKND, and flowy hair by Byrde + the b!

On location @ White Memorial Conservation Center – Litchfield

We love cute outfits and we cannot lie…

We bumped into Rocking J Performance Horses mid-shoot

And horses, we love horses and will make them stop for a hug every time.

OOTD – WKND – lifestyle shop #Warren

Everything you see us wearing in this shoot (minus the shoes) is from WKND. Located in Warren, WKND is off the beaten path, but a destination boutique shopping experience you need to treat yourself to! If you love chic and luxe weekend/casual wear and cute accessories, you’ll love WKND and its laid back vibes. We stop whenever we’re in the area. Owner David Asmar has an NYC fashionable-knack for finding awesome designers (like Guillaume, who Lora is wearing!) at all price points.

AND, they have just as many great outfits for guys.

As you can see in these pics, Lindsey put us at ease and kept us giggling in the woods. She’s a professional with an infectious laugh and we loved our afternoon with her!

What’s your specialty/what do you enjoy shooting the most?

I specialize in photographing people — families, in-home newborns, and personal branding photographs for professionals and small businesses.  Putting people at ease and allowing them space to be themselves — eliciting an honest expression — that is my goal for every session.

Most recently I photographed over 350 children’s fine art school portraits which was an amazing experience! I can’t wait to do it again (after I find time for a nap).

How did you get into photography?

I started taking pictures of people with a Polaroid when I was five years old. When I was twelve I got my first Nikon film camera (this was pre-digital, of course) and spent four years in high school learning behind the camera and in the darkroom.

In my past life, I was a PR & Marketing Director for arts nonprofits for 15 years, most notably for the Litchfield Jazz Festival and Camp, and I took photographs to promote those programs. I bring all of that experience into my own business which I officially launched in Litchfield County in 2018.

Photog tips on how people can get better pics or selfies?

Simply being yourself. And when in doubt, laugh! Even if it’s a fake laugh it will turn into a real one and then you’ll feel more at ease. A more flattering pose is to turn your body with your shoulder at a 45-degree angle to the camera, put your weight on the front foot, and then look over that shoulder now closer to the camera. And soft natural light is always a great choice!

When you’re not shooting, what can we find you doing?

I love spending time outdoors with my family. Two of our favorite places to explore are White Memorial and Topsmead, both in Litchfield. I’m a member of the Town of Litchfield’s Economic Development Commission, Marketing Task Force, Litchfield Area Business Association, and the Junior Women’s Club of Litchfield Hills. I am also the Connecticut Chapter Leader of Elena S. Blair’s “Connection” which is a photography education community online and, when it’s safe again, in person. If you’re a Connecticut photographer, I’d love for you to join us!
