Litchfield Magazine and TownVibe, we tip our hats to you for putting together the Taste of Litchfield! Litchfield County is a tasty place, so to get so many incredible restaurants, specialty markets, and distillers in one glorious location was so much fun, and super convenient for us tasters!

This was a foodies paradise…aka our paradise! Without further ado, here’s our highlights of the day, Unlocking Litchfield style. 🙋🏼💁🏻

Marie Antoinette supposedly said, “Let them eat cake!” And so, we did. With my wedding planning in full gear, it was time to taste test different flavors made by our chosen baker for our big day, AmandaBakes. We headed up to South Farms in Morris, CT with our taste buds and bellies ready. You know, for the sake of the guests…

Let us tell you all about our getaway (a mere 30 minutes from our homes) to Winvian Farm, in Morris, CT.

Winvian Farm is gated, so there’s no taking a casual drive through, making it all the more mystical and intriguing. Our only prior knowledge of the luxury resort is from studying the website (which we may have done at length). For weeks since arranging this trip, we’ve been saying things to each other like, “I hope we get the Beaver Lodge” (Bev) or, “I think it’s going to be the Helicopter” (Lora). Winvian boasts eighteen unique resort cottages and the Hadley Suite, designed by fifteen different architects. Each cottage has its own special character and vibe.

We combine our love of fashion and beautiful Litchfield County homes, and bring to you a new series – Fashionable Real Estate! Lord & Taylor in Danbury styled us in four outfits, giving us a taste of what we can expect to see in stores this spring. Shot in Morris, CT, at a historic landmark home for sale through William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty. This beautiful estate includes the former Lakeside, CT post office and Slaiby’s General Store, which currently houses The Gallery. Happy shopping!

Do you ever have friends or family over from out of town and it’s up to you to come up with something to do that’ll appeal to them all? Where can you go that Dad can find something for his sweet tooth; somewhere that your cousin can fill her basket with local fresh fruit, veg and heritage breed meat (and hopefully offer to cook later, jeez)? Where is there a place that your hyper niece can get rid of some of that energy by running through a whopper of a corn maze…and everyone can get their shop on and enjoy some top shelf gourmet lunch?

Ding-a-ling. We have the answer! Morris Marketplace at South Farms in Morris. Pack up your car and take a little trip to see all that this gorgeous spot, smack in the middle of Morris, has to offer.
