Introducing Byrdeman, Litchfield County’s bespoke barber.
Byrdeman: James Serra
What’s your barber background?
I’m a second-generation barber. My dad was my inspiration. I graduated from Roffler Academy 30 years ago and owned my own shop for 26 years.
When can our readers find you at Byrdeman?
Currently Wednesdays 11:30 AM – 6 PM and Thursdays 10:30 AM -12:30 PM.
What services do you offer?
Men’s cuts, colors, beard sculpting, and hot lather/straight razor shaves.
Enter our friend Robin, who we signed up for a Byrdeman make-over. Are you ready for the most awesome before and after?…
What service do you feel men could use the most?
The whole package of a cut, hot towel, and shave is therapeutic. In this day of stress and fast pace, most men need self-care to slow down and take time for themselves.
Robin gave James full permission to do whatever he thought best for his hair and beard. After a brief consultation, James got to chopping, trimming, and razoring!
What excites you the most about being at Byrdeman?
The vibe and energy of the space stirs my creative flow… I feel inspired to create hair art!
When you’re not at Byrdeman, where are you?
In the woods with my two dogs Frankie, 15, and Shiva, 10 months. Or, on my chopper “the mistress” getting lost in the Berkshires, or with family and friends living my best life.
Ta-dah!! Robin, before + after!
3 unexpected things about you?
I am a yoga teacher, an Ayurveda health counselor, and a Reiki master.
