With a couple of days scheduled doing all the fashionista things of our dreams at NYFW, we asked Bartley Johnstone, stylist and, owner of B. Johnstone to help us come up with an amazing outfit for one of the days!
B. Johnstone – help us!
We asked Bartley to please kick us out of our comfort “go-to” zones, and help us put together an outfit that would scream “street style!” Although Bartley knows us both pretty well, we thought we’d help things along and give her 2 examples of each of our personal style icons for inspiration!

We absolutely love being styled by Bartley – she takes command and knows her stuff. She knows which bits we like to hide, where our comfort zones are, and how to show us new ideas for putting together a great outfit! We went through a couple of ideas before deciding on the one…but only because we wanted to see what else she’d come up with (for the fun of it!).
Lora couldn’t resist this white Chanel coat, I mean, it’s white (Lora’s fave color)…it’s also super classy, and she could imagine Audrey Hepburn wearing it. Score!
And for me, I couldn’t resist this rocker-chic studded dress over pants. I do like a bit of metallic!
But then I spotted this Stella McCartney number hanging on the wall…Bartley shows me the magical sleeves…
Lora settled on this Akris for Bergdorf Goodman dress, accessorized with gorgeous statement jewelry by Deepa Gurnani. Bottomed off (is that a thing?) with Manolo Blahnik heels.
And I ended up with the magnificent sleeve top, by Stella McCartney, and black Donna Karan pants. I was able to wear my sleeves buttoned up during the day, and could, “let my sleeves down” for an evening show!
Street Styling!
Thank you, Bartley!!
