Cocktails in Connecticut! Feast your eyes on these beautiful summery libations from some unique and well worth-the-visit restaurants around the state.
Lucky Duck @ The White Horse Country Pub #NewPreston
We can’t lie, this is a favorite of ours. Whenever we’re driving by The White Horse Pub we make sure we stop in. We have a small flock of rubber duckies at home now! ? Go try the Lucky Duck – peachy, champagne, Schnapps goodness, and enjoy the English pub atmosphere!
Purple Seas @ Lucas Local #Newtown
Lucas Local is a fresh seafood and oyster lover’s dream. The modern tavern in Newtown has a cool vibe (very ‘grammable!) and serves up picturesque craft cocktails. Purple Seas, for example! This is a gin, Cointreau, lemon, lavender syrup, bee blossom extract, and egg whites number!?
Kay’s Key Lime @ Little Pub #OldSaybrook
Dessert in a cocktail – we SO approve! Little Pub served us their most popular Kay’s Key Lime (we even met Kay) and sent out a slice of actual Key Lime pie to compliment it. By far, the best dessert/drink experience we’ve had so far in life. Zingy!!
Blueberry Lemon Thyme Smash @ Fife ‘n Drum #Kent
This fruity and fresh blueberry, thyme, St. Germaine cocktail is best enjoyed after a lovely day strolling around Kent, the most charming of towns! The Fife ‘n Drum has been serving up hospitality and fine dining since 1973. We love it there; it’s like a warm hug from an old friend.
Elderberry Kombucha Margarita @ J. Lawrence Downtown #Bethel
This healthy margarita (?) at J. Lawrence Downtown is made with J’s Homemade Elderberry Syrup made locally in Bethel, and Cross Culture Kombucha made in Danbury. Both are women-owned companies. Oh, and did we mention it was delicious?! All the yay’s in a cocktail.
Plum Crazy @ The Mayflower #Washington
Sitting on the terrace at The Mayflower Inn & Spa, tucked away in Washington Depot, and sipping a fresh plum cocktail. It just doesn’t get much more delightful than that. Our Plum Crazy drinks from their seasonal cocktail menu involved local plums, berries, and bubbles. Summer in a glass!
Carmenta: Goddess of Spells @ Mercato #Southbury
We had many reasons for choosing this spicy Margarita at Mercato. Let us count the ways! 1. Named Goddess of Spells (c’mon’!), and 2. We’re really into spicy tequila rn! Jalapeno simple syrup gives the cocktail a kick and the mango popsicle garnish is fun to enjoy in the summer sun!
Simply Summer @ Metro Bis #Simsbury
We enjoyed this refreshing cucumber-y number (cucumber vodka, lime juice, agave) a couple of weeks ago when we visited Metro Bis for the first time. We were blown away by the history, the decor, Chef Chris Prosperi, and basically, the entire experience!
