Look up charming, you’ll find The West Lane Inn

We love a great boutique hotel! The West Lane Inn was built in 1849 and hits the perfect balance of country-inn-charming with all of today’s modern conveniences. They have 17 beautifully appointed rooms, each tastefully decorated with a private bathroom.

A tale of two friends starting a dream business together!

You know we love this story already!

Christine Carnicelli & Danille Petrie met as friends through their now high school boys a little over 5 years ago.  While they’ve had very different career paths, they were both hungry to do something for themselves and somehow put a footprint in their community. When the property came on the market, they knew it was the right move.  An 18 month, crazy, wild, and amazing ride later, they’re both loving every minute of inn ownership!

For those who are new to the area, Christine & Danille know what’s happening in their charming town…they love to make suggestions for restaurants, shopping, hiking, or exploring. And if a guest is visiting for a special occasion, they’re happy to put fresh flowers, champagne, or any other goodies in their room.

Got an event coming up?

Christine & Danille love to help plan and book events at the inn, anywhere from a small and intimate dinner party under the tree in the yard to a bigger rehearsal dinner with a food truck!

Looking good at 172 years old!

The West Lane Inn is a local gem that has been running as an inn for over 30 years! When these 2 friends bought it in October 2019 they never imagined a global pandemic was around the corner.  Not deterred, they’ve been using the time to begin the many upgrades they had planned (and they look amazing!).

The common areas are all freshly updated with hardwood flooring, new paint, light fixtures, and furnishings.  And so far, they’ve completely renovated 6 of the 17 rooms including bathrooms. In the remaining traditional rooms, all new bedding and bath products have been added. The ladies also added a few sentimental touches with family heirloom items decorating a few of the rooms, like grandma’s vase and a gorgeous butterfly pitcher. They want it to feel like a home away from home. We love that!

On to the rooms…

Prepare to go home and find yourself ordering a new headboard…you’ve been warned. Our rooms were boutique-chic, spacious, and comfortable. There’s a fridge for your leftovers, outlets near the bed, good wifi, good sheets, plush towels, hanging space, a great shower, and ? Molton Brown products. Yup, that’s pretty much everything we look for in a hotel!

Coffee & breakfast on the porch

The inn is open daily for continental breakfast (8 -1 0:30 am) to both guests and outside patrons. You’re welcome to sit on their front porch, enjoy something from the menu, and enjoy the view! They do ask that you call ahead to make sure they don’t have a private event going on.

If you fall in love with your mug (it is the perfect size) you can buy West Lane Inn merch! Remember your stay and buy a wine glass or coffee mug before you check out. T-shirts and hoodies coming soon!

Yoga & Pop-ups!

Guests and non-guests are welcome to come and join Imagine Yoga for a class on the lawn on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And keep an eye on WLI’s Instagram for some awesome collab pop-ups!

Nice neighbors to have…

You only have to walk a few mere steps across the driveway to the inn’s neighbor, Bernard’s for fine dining, and Sarah’s Wine Bar for casual. Could it be more perfect? Have that 2nd glass of wine, you’re not driving!

While you’re in town…

Ridgefield was recently named the first Cultural District in Connecticut. This means The West Lane Inn is within walking distance (or a tiny drive) to many wonderful offerings of art, culture, shopping, theater, and events in town that draw people from all over. Danille and Christine love their community with a passion and can’t wait to be a part of some exciting town-wide projects currently in the works. Stay tuned!

We can’t wait to come back. Thank you, Danille + Christine for an awesome and relaxing stay!
