Oishi – Japanese for yummy!
Oishi has it all going on…and what a treat to shoot these pics and get a little sushi education! One of the three business partners, Vicky Gao, gave us the inside scoop on what the 3 chefs were rustling up as we oohed and ahhhed. Sushi is PRETTY!
Partners Vicky Gao, Hui Lin, and Peter Hu
New owners Vicky, Hui, and Peter acquired Oishi in 2024.Β The original Oishi opened in 2014, setting a high bar in the Fairfield County sushi restaurant scene. Today, they continue to offer the highest quality Japanese cuisine while enhancing the menu selection & expanding the beverage program. We tried some crazy good cocktails!
Sushi world
It was so fun to sit with Vicky and learn about what goes into running a sushi restaurant (many hours and a huge amount of dedication!). We also learned what everything was on the Sushi Omakase platter (basically the sushi chef’s choice of favorites)!
Sushi humor:
What did the sushi say to the bee? Wasabi

We were transfixed watching the Oishi sushi chefs at work!
Creative cocktails & sake
Vicky whipped up a Lychee Martini and Tsunami Mai-Tai for us to sample. And if we ever fancy a sake educational journey, we know where to go!
Catering & parties!
Make your next party deliver a lasting impression and book Oishi to cater. They can put together something great from $20 per person up to $80/100. Sushi platters, hibachi, and fried ice cream anyone? ππ»ββοΈπββοΈ
Enjoy!
