The Spa at Litchfield Hills ladies wrote us explicit instructions on how to use the products they sent us after our appeal to them for help – which went something like this…
Dear friends at The Spa at Litchfield Hills,
Our skin is dusty and wintery, our hands rough and leather-like…We have zero, zilch, nada time to come to your beautiful spa for the day (though we intend to make time soon). Please send supplies for us to do-it-ourselves.
Love, your dry and crispy friends,

DIY Home Spa Day!
So here it is, easy ways to give yourself spa-like treatments at home. All instructions courtesy of The Spa at Litchfield Hills. We learned loads of new tips, and we’re pretty well versed on skincare, i.e. have read many magazines and blogs.
Grab a friend, put on your PJs, pour some Bellinis, and follow along!

CLEANSE CORRECTLY
Cleansing is the first step to anti-aging. Pull your hair back and wash your ENTIRE face, including your neck and décolleté, 2 x daily.
Use an aesthetic wipe or washcloth. This can also double as an added exfoliation.
EXFOLIATE!
Regular exfoliation (2-3x weekly) allows your skin to reap the full benefits of your cleaners and moisturizers. Not to mention, your makeup will go on flawlessly.
PRO TIP: At home micro exfoliants are a great replacement for people who crave the scrubbing sensation of drug store items, like an apricot scrub, but without the damage they cause.
Vie Renewing Exfoliant Cream – it’s like an at-home microdermabrasion treatment!
WET-ON-WET
Apply your toner or moisturizer while your skin is still damp or slightly wet. Your products will have more “slip”, spread further and hydrate more effectively. You can even add a little water to your fingertips and mix it with your moisturizer – you’ll find you use less cream.
PRO TIP: Never drag your fingers in a DOWNWARD motion – you want your face to LIFT, not lower! Wet-on-wet ensures that your fingers will glide without pulling or creating wrinkles.

SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP!
[They’re not the first to tell us that! ]
Consultations and professional analysis can be enlightening – often times clients think they have “something wrong” with their skin, when in fact they only have misconceptions about their skin type or have “something wrong” with their beauty regime. The Spa at Litchfield Hills offers free complimentary skin consultations.
Next up – take care of your hands!
DAILY MAINTENANCE
Apply cuticle oil daily. Avoplex cuticle oil to-go is like chapstick for your cuticles. Keep this item within reach. You can rub into your cuticles while unwinding for bed or following up on late night emails.
PRO TIP: every time you apply moisturizer to your face or body take the excess cream and “push” back and rub into your cuticles – you will be surprised what a difference this makes between manicures. Keep your hand cream within reach! Pick up a travel sized hand cream so it will fit in your purse and you can keep close-by through your day, ensuring you USE it.
SHINE ON
Add a clear coat of polish a few days after your manicure. This will seal the edges of your nails to prevent chipping and extend the life of your manicure. Rejuvacote is a nail strengthener which will nourish your nails with or without polish.
Paisley on paisley: has Lora committed a bedroom fashion crime? You decide.
EXFOLIATE YOUR HANDS
Treat your hands to a scrub. Like the skin on your face, your hands are exposed to the environment and elements, often unprotected. By exfoliating, you will remove dead skin cells and stimulate cell renewal and blood flow ensuring younger looking skin.
SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP
Paraffin treatments are an overlooked spa treat. Add it to your next hand or foot treatment. Try an anti-aging hand treatment. The same powerful skincare products as their facial peels, giving your hands serious “wow” factor results.
