Unlocking Lenox, MA

Planning your spring/summer day trips? We’ve got you. Our Unlocking Lenox (MA) day checks every box – great food, charming shops, culture, nature, and a little wellness moment, too. We rounded up 7 of our favorite spots to help you plan your perfect day (or turn it into an overnight, trust us!). Pick a few or do them all! Save this for your next adventure.

Shots Café

We stopped into Shots Café, right in the heart of historic downtown Lenox, for lunch and lattes – and instantly loved the cozy, local vibe. This charming spot serves breakfast, lunch, coffee, espresso, beer, wine, and fresh-baked treats, all made with high-quality, organic ingredients by husband-and-wife duo (and co-chefs) Liliana & Matt. We devoured the turkey, cranberry, brie, & sprouts sandwich, plus a tomato, mozzarella, & pesto combo. Don’t skip something sweet—the carrot cake was unreal.

Honeychurch Home

We basically planned our entire trip around visiting Honeychurch Home in its new downtown Lenox location – and it was so worth it. Fans from its Salisbury days, we knew Carolyn would create something special, and she delivered. The expanded space is filled with beautiful local & global homewares, gardening finds, clothing, jewelry, and tablescaping pieces. We loved their new clothing line of timeless summer linens – so effortlessly garden-party-chic. From little luxuries to statement pieces, it’s a can’t-miss for your home or gifting.

Intuitive Spirit Healing Arts

After Lora’s incredible Reiki session this past winter, we made sure to book time with Carla Moodie at Intuitive Spirit Healing Arts, before heading home – and it was the perfect call. Carla is so warm and calming, instantly putting you at ease. We both left feeling unbelievably relaxed (didn’t want it to end). She offers massage treatments – deep, relaxing, and therapeutic – along with energy work, Reiki, bodywork, integrative positional therapy, and acupressure. We could not have been more relaxed for our drive home!

The Mount

You’ll feel transported to the Gilded Age, strolling the grounds of The Mount, the beautifully preserved home of Edith Wharton. Wharton—author of The Age of Innocence, Ethan Frome, and The House of Mirth—was the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and remains one of America’s most celebrated writers. Completed in 1902, the turn-of-the-century estate showcases Wharton’s additional talent for architecture, gardens, and design!

Starting in April, you can tour the house (we’re already planning a return!).

The Norman Rockwell Museum

Just outside Lenox in Stockbridge, don’t miss the Norman Rockwell Museum. Located in Norman Rockwell’s hometown, the museum houses the world’s largest collection of his original works alongside art from past & contemporary masters (it’s open year-round).

If you’re staying at Berkshires Untold, you can snag a discounted ticket. We especially loved the Jazz Age illustration exhibition—so good it had us wishing for a time machine.

Bistro Zinc

For dinner, we landed on Bistro Zinc, a go-to for modern French cuisine (Lora had been a couple of times before and knew it was a winner). Warm, fresh bread & butter hit the table, we ordered a couple of martinis, and instantly felt at home. The Chicken Française with potato purée and haricots verts sealed the deal. Cozy, classic, and so delicious – exactly what we wanted after a full day exploring. Safe to say, very happy bloggers over here.

Ventfort Hall Mansion & Gilded Age Museum

Ventfort Hall is a jaw-dropping 1893 mansion built for Sarah Morgan (the sister of JP Morgan); one of the many “cottages” built in the late 19th century when the village was a popular Gilded Age resort! We are fascinated by this era!!

The Museum of the Gilded Age brings the era to life with exhibits, lectures, and performances. We only had time to linger on the porch, imagining life (and outfits!) back then – but trust us, we’ll be back for the full tour!
