Unlocking Connecticut turns 4 – The movie!

The venue – 19Main
19Main in New Milford is a destination event space and was perfect for our chic affair! The building is registered on the National Register of Historic Places and was mostly utilized as a bank since 1902. Now, it’s an elegant hip spot to host parties, weddings, events, and cocktail soirees.

Noujaim’s Bistro
George Noujaim of Noujaim’s Mediterranean Bistro in Winsted provided the delicious spanakopita, cucumber with salmon, the best hummus ever, satay chicken, and the baklava. Oh, the baklava!

Yes, only the best for our party! Owner of Arethusa Farm Dairy, Tony Yurgaitis made us very happy bloggers when not only did he donate 40 lbs of ridiculously good cheese to our party, but he also showed up to wish us well and cheer us on! ❤️

We’re not only glowing because we’re surrounded by all of our favorite people (not because we went to the South of France before the party) we’re also glowing because we got beautiful spray tans by Sun Kissed Glow!

Thank you for coming to Unlocking Connecticut’s 4-year birthday party! Yes, that’s Unlocking Connecticut.
We get called other things…Uncorking Connecticut (not a bad idea), Unleashing Connecticut (not sure what that would entail) and often still get called Unlocking Litchfield (our first blog-baby).
So we’ll take this moment to make a quick reminder PSA that we’re Unlocking all of Connecticut…potentially the world in the future, stay tuned.
We’re often asked why Connecticut needs to be unlocked? Well, because we don’t believe all of these CT gems should be a secret, that’s why! We love to explore and like to take staycations in our own backyard. Our aim is to make our way around all 169 towns and report back to you on where to go, where to eat, and what to see and do!
That makes for a lot of drive time…and #UnlockingtheCar videos!
We often get requests to pick up passengers to join us on our unlocking travels…but until we find ourselves a willing camera crew or a limo driver, we came up with this cardboard Jeep!
We remember when we started as Unlocking Litchfield way back in 2015 and hitting 100 Instagram followers. We’re excited to say that a couple of days after our party we hit 10k followers. Which is a big deal in Insta-world because as you may have noticed, we can now add links to our stories! Swipe Up!
